Ari and Shira are visionaries, and the legacy of their vision continues to be the bedrock of Tiferet Yeshua today: being a spirit-filled, Hebrew-speaking (without translation), and culturally Jewish community dedicated to evangelism, discipleship and shining the light in our city. Ari and Shira were also committed to high-quality, spirit-filled worship in Hebrew, and Tiferet Yeshua’s worship teams continue to serve under that special anointing today.
Almost on every point of their vision, Ari and Shira received pushback and criticism from other Messianic Jewish leaders in Israel: not offering translation in their services from Hebrew to other languages is elitist. They were called “Judaizers” for celebrating biblical holidays and honoring some Jewish tradition in their worship – to which Ari would jokingly reply, “You can’t Judaize a Jew!” Ari would always point out that there is no Bible verse that directs Jews to abandon their roots when they follow Yeshua. Quite the opposite.
Slowly, the vision that God gave to Ari and Shira started growing in other communities, and a Messianic Jewish identity began to take root in Israel.
Tiferet Yeshua is a congregation with a deep and enduring spiritual heritage: first and foremost, Yeshua as the center, anointed teaching and worship, evangelism, discipleship and a sincere family openness and warmth. These are the essential foundations established by Ari and Shira.
As Ari shares, “We are all grafted into the commonwealth of Israel. We are all the priesthood of the New Covenant. And we all need the Lord’s light, the Lord’s blessing, His favor and compassion. The Aaronic blessing (Numbers 6:24-26) speaks that deep blessing to all of us – the priesthood of the New Covenant.”
The LORD bless you and keep you
The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you
The Lord lift His countenance upon you and give you peace.
